Our funding will enable National Museums Liverpool to deliver tailored in-person museum experiences to people living with dementia around Merseyside.

What we’re funding: The House of Memories project was created by National Museums Liverpool to support people with dementia in living well through meaningful activity and opportunities to interact with others. Our funding will be used to take the project to people where they are, to deliver tailored in-person museum experiences and to support social connection between older people in the Merseyside region.

Why we’re funding: We were impressed by the development of a model that delivered museum experiences to people who would otherwise struggle to visit or manage the large museum environment. House of Memories and National Museums Liverpool has continued to evolve and respond to the changing needs of people living with dementia. We see potential lessons for other museums in how to reach people that struggle to visit in person.
