Our funding will support Heard to influence media work to authentically represent the lived experience of forced migration for young people.

What we’re funding: Media Movers is a co-created programme that supports displaced young people to meet and have conversations with and influence media professionals to spark creative and authentic storytelling about migration. Our funding will enable the programme to focus specifically on children’s media.

Why we’re funding: The rise of rhetoric fuelling division in society has led to a need to reach young people at a time when their opinions are still being shaped. Popular culture can be difficult to influence, but Heard is leading the way with an evidence-led approach to enable cohesion between people of different experiences. Its work is bringing increased appetite for narrative shift work across the UK, and its strategic focus on media and pop culture is vital in influencing the public into feeling and acting differently on immigration.
