Our funding will support Counterpoints Arts with its core costs and to develop the mental health strand of its work.
What we’re funding: Funding will be used to build a network of arts, refugee, and mental health practitioners and organisations across the UK, and Counterpoints Arts will work with mainstream cultural venues to develop their arts, mental health, and refugee programmes. A focus will also be placed on the support and development of artists with migrant backgrounds.
Why we’re funding: Counterpoints Arts is a leading and exciting national organisation that supports the arts by and about refugees and migration. It plays a significant role in brokering relationships across and beyond the arts and migration space, and its annual Refugee Week is one of the largest collaborative efforts in the refugee sector. We believe that the creative approach to embedding mental health themes in its public facing programmes will enhance the national conversation about migrants and people seeking refuge.
